Furthr hosts EBN Techcamp 2024 in The Guinness Enterprise Centre
Along with The European Business and Innovation Centre Network, Furthr hosted the 40th Techcamp from November 19th to 21st. The event provides a platform for networking, collaboration, and co-learning for businesses. A key theme for this year’s event was exploring the profound impact digital transformation and AI can have on supporting business innovation centres, their start-up clients and associated investors.
Irish RegTech start-up Customs Window Technologies has closed a €800,000 seed funding round. Customs Window Technologies provides companies with a smart comprehensive system to address the increasing complexity and volume of customs declarations and associated compliance requirements. This latest funding round, led by private and EIIS investors, with the support of Enterprise Ireland High Potential Start-Up (HPSU) funding, will be used by the company to scale into the UK market.
Wicklow-based fintech Sobi Analytics expects to raise €2.5 million in a funding round, which it expects to close by the end of this year. Founder and CEO Brenda Jordan said “The whole purpose of Sobi is to work out where you want to go and tell you how to get there. We do that by mapping it out and putting up the signposts along the way, ultimately to show you how to stay on or get back on the right path.”
Öogo, an Irish-founded childcare management platform, is aiming to raise €1.2 million in a funding round expected for next year. Founded by Kate Clark in 2019, Öogo operates entirely remotely. Currently, the business has three employees and has raised a total of €825,000 to date.
Tech start-up Co-Swipe aims to generate €300,000 in revenue in the first 18 months after its platform is formally launched in November. The business has developed a solution aimed at making it easier for firms to manage partnerships with other organisations and was founded by Olga Heanue and Vlada Shevchenko in 2024.
Furthr client and Pitch Jam alum Glitch, an artificial intelligence company, will launch its platform for managing online ads early in the new year. Previously known as Glitch Ads and based in Dublin, the firm was founded by Aisling Browne and Kingsley Kelly in 2023. It has three full-time staff and has raised €750,000 to date.
PLIO Surgical won big at the annual InterTradeIreland Seedcorn Investor Readiness Competition. The medical device developer and Trinity College spin-out was announced as the overall winner at the all-island competition, taking home €100,000. The competition aims to improve the investor readiness of new and early-stage businesses across the island.
Enterprise Ireland this month announced a delegation of 24 companies attending Slush, the annual start-up and tech event held in Helsinki. Among the companies representing Ireland at the event are several supported by Furthr, including Binarii Labs, Tracworx, Everyangle, and DevA11y. Notably, DevA11y made it to the final three in the Slush 100 start-up competition.
Four Furthr clients reached the final of The Irish Times Innovation Awards. TrojanTrack, TurboTEM, PLIO Surgical, and Skippio were among the finalists in 2024. The Irish Times Innovation Awards celebrate outstanding business innovation in Ireland. Each finalist was featured in The Irish Times, giving them the chance to showcase their achievements to industry leaders and fellow innovators.
