Furthr bolsters leadership team with three appointments

 

Furthr has announced three senior appointments to drive growth and support the Irish start-up ecosystem. Julian Seymour has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, a role in which he will focus on operational efficiency. Having been with Furthr since 2014, Seymour previously served as head of acceleration. Majella Murphy replaces him as Head of Acceleration, overseeing support for start-ups seeking investment. Aisling Reddin is the new Programme Operations Manager, responsible for managing and improving Furthr’s One-to-One and One-to-Many programmes.

Bold Donut, an education company based in Dublin, plans to secure €900,000 in funding this year to support its growth. Founded in 2022 by Kate Williams and Nathan Cruz Coulson, the company specialises in gamified education focused on sustainability. With a current team of two, Bold Donut has raised €100,000 so far.

Boxcore, a construction technology company based in Dublin, plans to expand into the US and grow its team to 30 employees within the next year. Founded in 2021 by Padraig Reilly, the company has 15 staff members and has raised €2 million in funding. Boxcore has developed a system to manage safety records and other data within the construction industry.

Furthr VC portfolio company Ronspot to hire 12 staff over the next year

 

Ronspot, a booking management software company based in Galway, plans to hire 12 new employees over the next year as it broadens its range of products.

Established in 2018 by Michael Furey, the company currently employs 43 people across Ireland and India. To date, it has secured €1.7 million in funding and has created a solution to optimise bookings, enabling businesses to utilise their spaces efficiently while avoiding double bookings.

Trave, a Co Cavan-based construction technology company and a client of Furthr plans to raise up to €1 million in its upcoming funding round. Expected to close by the end of this quarter, the funds will support the company’s expansion across Ireland and into the UK later this year. Founded in 2021 by Paul Gilcreest, Trave operates from the Cavan Digital Hub. The company currently has a team of eight and has secured €100,000 in funding to date.

Participants developed ideas to address regional challenges in Dublin and beyond, considering their impact on Ireland and potential funding for commercialisation. Six finalists showcased their entrepreneurial talent, presenting innovative solutions. The event highlighted Furthr and Griffith College's commitment to fostering innovation, creativity and business strategy.

Rebekah Brooks has been named Managing Director of The Indie List, a creative and marketing talent platform. Since its launch in 2020, The Indie List has facilitated over €5 million in freelance earnings by connecting marketing freelancers with clients. With 25 years of experience in the industry, Brooks specialises in helping brands expand internationally.
