Furthr VC invests in University College Cork medtech spinout NeuroBell

 

Cork-based Medtech NeuroBell, which is building a monitor to detect seizures in newborn babies has spun-out from University College Cork with the closure of a €2.1 million funding round that it says will help it launch the device and secure regulatory approval. The €2.1m investment was led by Furthr VC, Atlantic Bridge and HBAN MedTech Syndicate, with Enterprise Ireland and other private investors also investing.

The six-month programme, which begins in April, will be delivered by NovaUCD, the university's hub of innovation and start-up activities, in partnership with CeADAR, Ireland's National Centre for Applied AI.
